I really enjoyed this year’s academy. I’ve attended for 2 year now, and this is the best tech training that I think I could get. I really enjoyed using movie maker/audacity together. I also appreciate getting time to add to my blog. I plan to podcast sometime during this school year and will use some of the photo editing/movie making software for school use and personal use. I would appreciate time to work within grade levels to create SMARTboard lessons related to SOL’s that everyone could use.
Thanks Melissa!Ginger

I can’t tell you how much I’ve enjoyed Tech Academy this year! I’ve had so much FUN learning about all of the Web 2.0 applications. Your knowledge and experitise is immeasurable, and for you to share what you know with us to be commended. I can’t wait to take back some of the things I learned and use in my classroom. Thank you for introducing Claymation! What a neat way to express what is being taught in class-the kids are going to LOVE this! I know I did! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

I appreciated having time to update my blog and be introduced to new ways to use classroom blogs. I enjoyed creating the claymation project. I would like to incorporate more fluency practice using readers theater scripts in my classroom this year. I will be able to use what I learned with Audacity and MovieMaker to create audio/video presentations of the student’s work.

Melissa,
I have enjoyed this Academy as much as much as all the rest. I liked learning about podcasting and making my first podcast. I enjoyed the claymation segment, but it was too stressful for me until Kate helped out.
Thanks for all you do to help educate teachers so we can keep up with the kids!

Thank you for the Tech Academy. As always, I feel overwhelmed and realize how much I need to learn about technology. I would like you to have a class for those of us who are less tech savvy.
Thanks again.

Another great summer of learning. Even those of us who are technology challenged are inspired and encouraged to create and soar with Melissa’s encouragement. Our team was great!! I loved working with them all!! Our claymation project was awesome. Great minds working and creating.

Mellisa Warren did a terrific job in Summer Tech Academy 09! She covered so much
information in one week. Bristol Virginia Public School System is so fortunate to have
Melissa. As a teacher I realize that our system is number one in technology. One
understands that we are so advanced when talking with other teachers from various
school systems. This is my second year to attend Summer Tech Academy.
Thank you Melissa for your hard work and time in preparing this class. You were great in all of our course materials: Podcasting, Digital Storytelling, Reader’s Theatre Scripts and Audacity. Please get some rest now! You deserve it.

This was my first time in Tech Academy and it was so tremendous. I enjoyed it so much, I want to help teach the kids’ summer camp in claymation. I learned how to embed video and gifs on my website. I learned how to create navigation buttons in html so that I can create easier access to all of my blog pages. I’ve learned how to use so many web resources to enhance my lessons such as, lunapic, wordle, podcasts, etc. I plan to use podcasting in the classroom this year. I had so much fun learning how to use movie maker and audacity. I just can’t say enough good things about this whole week. Thank you Melissa Warren. You are awesome.

I have really enjoyed every minute of Tech Academy. I have learned so many new things and can’t wait to use them in my classroom. I have really enjoyed working with other teachers in my area and making things we can use in our classrooms. I have learned new things to do with all my pictures I take each year . I hope to be able to be involved in another Tech Academy— it is WONDERFUL !! I have been teaching my daughter all the things we are learning and she is so impressed that Mom can actually do some neat things on her computer. I would like to use the clay in my classroom and also incorporate sounds into stories — I know my PreK kids will love that! Thanks again for being such a WONDERFUL teacher !!
